This collection is inspired my Korean heritage. It is a story about things lost by modernization and change in history. For this collection, I will be focusing on emergence of colors and how garments changed overtime .
It is unclear why Koreans wore white clothes, however there's few theories. Color white is associated with immorality, purity, cleanliness, heaven and earth, and sun. It is believed that Koreans have worshiped ‘white’ due to influence of shamanism.
Some say they simply did not have money and technique to offer dyed clothes. But it wasn’t because there wasn’t enough dying technics. Fabrics that was developed at that time was difficult to dye. Also during this period, drought and outbreak of contagious disease made it difficult for farmers to maintain their lives. They focused more on their personal lives and crops than fabric dye.
